Overview & Highlights

Welcome to the vibrant culinary landscape of Batu Pahat, where the flavors of traditional Malaysian cuisine come alive at Asam Pedas Claypot. Nestled at 145, Jalan Rugayah, Kim's Park Business Centre, this charming restaurant serves a mouthwatering array of dishes centered around the famed asam pedas—a spicy and tangy fish stew that has captured the hearts of both locals and visitors alike.

As soon as you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a lively atmosphere, perfect for family gatherings or casual dinners with friends. The restaurant is conveniently located near a busy intersection, adding to its vibrant street-side appeal. While some might find the surrounding area a bit mundane, the flavor of the food is anything but ordinary.

Highlights of the menu include the signature Asam Pedas Jenahak, renowned for its freshness and perfectly balanced gravy. Many patrons rave about the combination of tender fish and a rich, aromatic base that is neither too thick nor too thin. Norlina Ahmad aptly describes it as “sedap!!” and speaks to the affordability of the dining experience, making it a must-visit for anyone spending a night in the area.

Another standout dish is the Stingray Asam Pedas, subtly flavored yet incredibly satisfying. The accompanying sides, such as Bendi Goreng and Cincalok, further elevate the meal, offering a delightful contrast to the robust main dish. Loyal customers like Lokmin Jusoh appreciate the generous portions and the impeccable service, highlighting how the combination of food quality and attentive staff makes every visit exceptional.

Asam Pedas Claypot also caters to diverse palates, with delightful options like fried fish and omelets, ensuring that even those less inclined toward asam pedas return for more. The freshness of the ingredients shines through, as noted by customers who praise the absence of any unpleasant taste in the dishes. The atmosphere may be simple, but the food here is extraordinarily good, as many have echoed throughout their reviews.

While the restaurant is casual and a bit unassuming, the culinary experience it offers is truly remarkable. The value for money is unbeatable with hearty portions and delectable flavors, making Asam Pedas Claypot a standout choice in Batu Pahat. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in a feast that pays homage to Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage.

This restaurant is terribly good and worth to try next time. I would give 10 star if possible. The server was nice and friendly. The service was superfast. Only that matters are the location that located very near to the main road. Family with small kids need more extra careful having here.

Sedap!! The stingray asam pedas is fresh and the gravy is neither thick nor thin. Perfect! For 4 of us, we have 4 clayports of 3 Jenahaks and 1 stingray, a plate of bitter gourd, a plate of ladies fingers, salt egg, omelette, a plate of cencaluk, 4 plates of rice and 4 drinks, cost us RM79. How worth it is it?!?! Must come here if you are spending a night in Batu Pahat

mmg sedap gilee !! Abang tu janji nak belajar tomyam claypot pulak gengg , saya menunggu AHAHA

Daripada segi makanan, alhamdulillah memang sedap. Aku tak minat asam pedas, tapi family member lain yang minat asam pedas, semua kata sedap. Aku order ikan goreng. Walaupun aku cuma makan nasi dengan kuah asam pedas, telur masin dan ikan goreng, tapi ikan goreng dia memang sedap. Ikan fresh rasanya, memang tak ada rasa hanyir sikit pun. Aku memang puji bab ni. Padu memang sedap ikan goreng dia. Tepung goreng dia pun memang padu, ikan goreng rangup elok. Gambar aku tak ambil hari tu, nanti kalau dapat gambar daripada family member lain aku akan upload. Kedai tepi jalan. Cuma kurang cantik mata memandang sebab ada tong sampah berdekatan. Tapi x lah berbau. Pekerja pun baik2 je layan pelanggan. Cuma tempat kedai je, biasa2 saja. Tapi overall puas hati makan dekat sini

Asam pedas ikan jenahak terbaik. Isi ikan jenahak sangat manis dan kuah asam pedas yang sangat enak. Selain itu ada pilihan ikan kembung dan pari. Semuanya sedap. Harganya juga sangat berpatutan.

Best asam pedas. Not too thick or thin. Not overwhelmingly spicy.

The Asam Pedas was very good, and the complimentary dishes like the omelette and the stir fried vegetables are very tasty. The portion was very generous and just nice for a person to eat. Kipas ada orang ubah laa... panas plak tgh sedap makan asam pedas tu
